RESPONSE TO SEVERE WEATHER ALERT

Met Eireann’s Status Orange Wind Warning and Status Yellow Rain Warning remain in place. In light of the weather warning Cork County Council asks members of the public to avoid coastal areas and exercise extreme caution while driving.

At this time all public water supply schemes are back in action.

In relation to roads:-

The Longfield Bridge in Mallow may close later this morning. 

R632 Ladysbridge to Garryvoe remains closed.

R594 closed at Madore, north of Skibbereen.

Cork County Council’s 24 hour incident number 021 4800048  is open and will remain so throughout the weekend.

The Council will continue to monitor the situation over the coming hours. Any developments will be posted on the Council's website www.corkcoco.ie, as well as on the Council's Facebook and Twitter account.
