UPDATE RE SEVERE WEATHER ALERT 
Sunday 15th October 2017 at 23:00 hours

This update is being issued by Cork County Council's Crisis Management Team. The team convened on a number of occasions during Sunday and the following is the current position with respect to Cork County:

A STATUS RED weather warning has issued for WIND. This warning comes into force on Monday morning at 6am and is valid up to 23:59 hours on Monday 16th

A STATUS ORANGE weather warning has issued for RAINFALL. Valid from 9am to 9pm on Monday 16th.

The Crisis Management Team has reviewed the key risk areas and has put plans in place. Members of the public who wish to report issues/incidents should do so as follows:

Monday 16th October (up to 9am): emergency issues should be reported to (021) 4800048
Monday 16th October 9am-5pm: please contact your local Council office, or alternatively call (021)4800048 (for emergency incidents only)
Monday 16th October (from 5pm onwards): emergency issues should be reported to (021) 4800048
In the event of disruption to water supplies, persons should contact Irish Water at 1850278278.

Please note that due to the adverse weather conditions, the following Council facilities will be CLOSED on Monday 16th October:

Motor Tax Office

Council libraries
Civic Amenity Sites
CCC Swimming Pools (Dunmanway, Mallow, Fermoy)
Various tourist facilities - e.g. Spike Island, Michael Collins House, Camden Fort Meagher

Council staff will be on standby during the course of Monday. Due to the serious health and safety risks presented by a Status Red wind warning, and the need to ensure the safety and welfare of Council staff in such conditions, Council operational staff will only be responding to matters of serious and imminent danger to the public during the period for which the weather warning remains in force.
