All Irish public bodies are obliged to treat public funds with care, and to ensure that the best possible value-for-money is obtained whenever public money is being spent or invested.

 

The Public Spending Code is the set of rules and procedures that apply to ensure that these standards are upheld across the Irish public service.

 

Major Emergency Plan

The Major Emergency Plan is a document which underpins our preparedness to deliver a first class response to any disasters that could occur across County Cork. It is a priority of the Council to be constantly prepared to measure up to best international standards in major emergency management.


The purpose of this Plan is to put in place arrangements that will enable the Garda Siochana, the Health Service Executive, and the Local Authority to co-ordinate their efforts whenever a major emergency occurs.

 

Annual Service Plan

The purpose of this Plan is to provide a corporate document that sets out the objectives for service delivery and the performance standards to be achieved this year.

 

High level objectives for each service area have been identified and, together with the desired performance standard, have been included in the Plan. They have been formulated with regard to the Corporate Strategic Objectives agreed in the Cork County Council Corporate Plan 2014-2019.

The Corporate Plan 2015-2019 presents our vision of how the qualities of this unique region can be built upon to ensure a strong and thriving place to live, work, and visit. This Plan contains a Mission Statement which is founded on 8 Core Values, and supported by 10 Corporate Strategic Objectives. 

 

The content of this Corporate Plan aims to direct the Council's business processes and drive the performance of the Council for the coming years.

What is Your County Council?

 

Cork County Council is the second largest Local Authority in the Republic of Ireland, and the largest based on geographic area size. The Council has an annual revenue budget of approximately €300m and services a population of in the region of 400,000 people, or 141,000 households. Current staff numbers total 2,000 approximately.
