The Waste Management (Packaging) Regulations 2014 promote the recovery of specified packaging waste. The Regulations impose obligations on all producers, including manufacturers, importers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers, who in the course of business supply packaging to the Irish market.
The Regulations came into effect on the 21st June 2014 and replaced all the preceding packaging Regulations.
How do the Regulations affect my Business?
Cork County Council's Veterinary Department is responsible for carrying out functions in relation to food protection and disease control. It implements the terms and conditions of a Service Contract between the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) and Cork County Council in relation to the slaughter of food animals, and imposes statutory controls on the production of meat, meat products and poultry.
National Reuse Month is a new waste prevention initiative to raise awareness about the economic and environmental benefits of reusing everyday items and materials that would otherwise go to waste. Throughout October, local and regional events all over Ireland are encouraged to promote ways for families, businesses and communities to reuse. I attach one of several posters that may be used by you, schools and communities. Additional posters will be available on the environment web page to download.
