Cruinniú na nÓg Programme for Cork County Announced | Clár Chruinniú na nÓg fógartha do Chontae Chorcaí

Cork County Council Library & Arts Service is delighted to announce details of this year’s Cork County Cruinniú na nÓg programme, which will take place on Saturday, June 11th.  

A national day of free creativity for children and young people, Cruinniú na nÓg is an initiative of the Creative Ireland’s Creative Youth Plan and is unique to Ireland.

This year will see a true return to in-person events with creative showcase events at Chapel Hill School of Art in Macroom, The Mall Arts Centre in Youghal and Bandon Town Hall included in the countywide programme. These will be family centred events which will see a host of young people join in to demonstrate their creative talents.

Cork County Council’s libraries in Cobh, Bandon, Dunmanway, Kinsale, Midleton, Millstreet, Newmarket, Passage West and Youghal will host a range of free creative activities, including storytelling, art workshops and film screenings as part of the national day of creativity.

In Fermoy, Karen Clancy will host creative art and design classes for Ukrainian children at the Richmond Revival house, on Saturdays 21st and 28th of May, as well as the 4th and 11th of June from 2.00pm to 3.30pm.

Three of county’s youth theatre groups will present brand new original theatre in Mallow, Kinsale and Castletownbere as part of ‘Youth Theatre Cork 22’, an initiative supporting the development and production of high-quality youth theatre across Cork County. Lightbulb Youth Theatre Mallow, Kinsale Youth Theatre and Castletownbere Youth Theatre have each been invited to devise and produce site specific, original theatre for Cruinniú na nÓg 2022.

Launching the programme, Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Gillian Coughlan said, “It is wonderful to see such a wide range of events curated to celebrate the creativity of children and young people in Cork County. Creativity provides us with an opportunity for expression and learning, which is key to our personal development at any age. I look forward to seeing the return of live events this year and encourage young people right across the county to get involved in person or online and experience all that Cruinniú na nÓg 2022 has to offer.”

Clár Chruinniú na nÓg fógartha do Chontae Chorcaí

Tá áthas ar Leabharlann agus Seirbhís Ealaíne Chomhairle Contae Chorcaí mionsonraí a fhógairt ar chlár Cruinniú na nÓg Chontae Chorcaí na bliana seo, a tharlóidh Dé Satharn, 11 Mheithimh.  

Lá náisiúnta le cruthaitheacht shaor do pháistí agus daoine óga, is tionscnamh é Cruinniú na nÓg le Plean Óige Éire Cruthaithí agus tá sé ann in Éirinn amháin.

An bhliain seo beith filleadh chuig ócáidí reáchtáilte go pearsanta le ócáidí taispeántais cruthaithigh in Chapel Hill School of Art I Maigh Chromtha, The Mall Arts Centre in Eochaill agus Halla Baile Dhroichead na Bandan san áireamh sa chlár ar fud an chontae. Beidh siad seo mar ócáidí lárnaithe ar theaghlach agus tiocfaidh go leor daoine óga ag léiriú a gcuid tallainne chruthaitheacha ann.

Beidh leabharlanna Chomhairle Contae Chorcaí sa Chóbh, Droichead na Bandan, Dún Mánmhaí, Cionn tSáile, Mainistir na Corann, Millstreert, Áth Trasna, An Pasáiste agus Eochaill ag óstáil raoin gníomhaíochtaí cruthaitheacha, ceardlanna ealaíne agus taispeántais scannáin mar chuid de lá náisiúnta na cruthaitheachta.

I Mainistir Fhear Maí, beidh Karen Clancy ag óstáil ranganna cruthaitheacha ealaíona agus dearaidh do pháistí Úcránacha ag Richmond Revival house, dé Satharn 21 agus 28 Bhealtaine, chomh maith le 4 agus 11 Mheithimh ó 2.00rn go dtí 3.30in.

Beidh trí chinn de ghrúpaí drámaíochta óige an chontae ag léiriú drámaí úrnua nuachumtha I Mala, Cionn tSáile agus Baile Chaisleáin Bhéarra mar chuid de ‘Dhráma Óige Chorcaí 22’, tionscnamh a thacaíonn le forbairt agus táirgeadh dráma ardchaighdeáin ar fud Chontae Chorcaí. Fuair Lightbulb Youth Theatre Mallow, Kinsale Youth Theatre agus Castletownbere Youth Theatre cuireadh chun dráma sonrach don suíomh, nuachumtha a ullmhú agus a léiriú le haghaidh Cruinniú na nÓg 2022.

Ag seoladh an chláir, dúirt Méara Chontae Chorcaí, Cllr. Gillian Coughlan, “Is iontach raon leathan ócáidí mar sin a fheiceáil, léirithe chun ceiliúradh a thabhairt ar chruthaitheacht na bpáistí agus daoine óga i gContae Chorcaí. Tugann cruthaitheacht deis dúinn dreach agus foghlaim a spreagadh, agus is rud lárnach é sin dár bhforbairt phearsanta ag aon aois. Táim ag tnúth le filleadh na n-ócáidí beo a fheiceáil an bhliain seo agus spreagadh do dhaoine óga ar fud an chontae páirt a ghlacadh go pearsanta nó ar líne agus eispéireas a fháil ar gach atá ar fáil i gCruinniú na nÓg 2022.”
