Oidhreacht agus Caomhnú

Is ábhar casta é oidhreacht agus clúdaíonn sé raon leathan réimsí. Is í An tAcht Oidhreachta 1995 an phríomhphíosa reachtaíochta a rialaíonn Oidhreacht in Éirínn. Is í an aidhm atá leis ná spéis san Oidhreacht a spreagadh i measc an phobail agus eolas, meas agus cosaint ar an Oidhreacht Náisiúnta a fhorbairt.

Déantar Oidhreacht Náisiúnta a shainmhíniú mar: séadchomharthaí, réada seandálaíochta, réada oidhreachta, oidhreacht ailtireachta, flóra agus fána, gnáthóga fiadhúlra, tírdhreacha, muirdhreacha, báid bhriste, geolaíocht, gairdíní agus páirceanna oidhreachta agus uiscebhealaigh intíre.

Cruthaíodh An Chomhairle Oidhreachta mar thoradh ar an Acht Oidhreachta a bheith rite, agus an obair ar mhaithe le leas an phobail trí mhaoiniú, comhairle saineolach, cláir oideachais agus tacaíocht a chur ar fáil.

Is le gach duine an oidhreacht agus is cuid í dár saol gach lá, fiú mar a bhfuil sé sin ar eolas againn!
