Tá suíomh inmhaíte ag ‘Oileán Chléire – díreach ar imeall na scairbhe ilchríochaí. Tá an bealach isteach go Loch Trasna ar cheann de na suíomhanna is mó le rá san Eoraip le deilfeanna, míolta móra, turtair dhroimleathair, iasc gréine agus siorcanna a fheiceáil. Tá an t-aon fhaireachlann éan a bhfuil foireann ann in Éirinn ag an oileán, a choinníonn loga laethúil speiceas ó 1959. Lonnaithe dhá nóiméad siúil ó thrá an bháid farantóireachta, tá maor cónaitheach ag an bhfaireachlann (Márta go Samhain), agus cuireann sé lóistín ar nós brú ar fáil d'fhairtheoirí éan. Tá tránna agus céanna éagsúla ar Chléire atá oiriúnach do shnámh, ceantar amháin dá leithéid ná an Trá i gCoinlín, sa Chuan Theas’.

Oileán Chléire (Cape Clear Island) has an enviable location – right on the cusp of the continental shelf. The entrance to Roaringwater Bay is one of the leading dolphin, whale, leatherback turtles, sunfish, and shark sighting locations in Europe. The island has Ireland’s only manned bird observatory, which maintains a daily species log since 1959. Located two minutes’ walk from the ferry beach, the observatory is manned by a resident warden (March to November), and even offers birdwatchers hostel-style accommodation. There are various beaches and piers on Cape Clear suitable for swimming, one such area is Trá Coinlín (Coinlín Beach), South Harbour.
