Cllr. Gillian Coughlan elected as Mayor of the County of Cork

Gillian Coughlan, Councillor for the Bandon Kinsale Municipal District (MD), has been elected to the office of Mayor of the County of Cork, following a long career working with her local community and representing the people of Bandon in Bandon Town Council and later the people of Bandon Kinsale MD in Cork County Council.
With the return of the official Bathing Season, Cork County Council’s Beach Lifeguard Team are ready to oversee the safety of the public in the water off the beautiful County Cork coast.

Cork County Council Beach Lifeguard Team return for the 2021 Bathing Season

With the return of the official Bathing Season, Cork County Council’s Beach Lifeguard Team are ready to oversee the safety of the public in the water off the beautiful County Cork coast. The Beach Lifeguard team have adopted a ‘Safe on the Sand and in the Sea’ motto this year, with Lifeguards advising a Swim & Go policy to avoid large gatherings of people on our beaches.

Youghal Boardwalk Officially Launched

Ireland’s longest seafront boardwalk, a 2-metre-wide and 7km accessibility friendly walkway between Youghal town centre and Redbarn beach, was opened today by the Mayor of the County of Cork Cllr Mary Linehan Foley and Heather Humphreys T.D., Minister for Rural and Community Development.
