Being Winter Ready - Salt Bins for Residents Associations & Community Groups

As part of Cork County Council’s Winter Service Plan, a limited number of salt bins are being made available to Residents Associations and Community Groups on a shared funding basis. Under this initiative, the Council will make bins and salt available at a subsidized rate to aid Community Groups and residents in dealing with icy road and footpath conditions in areas that are not covered by the Council’s Road Treatment Routes.

Update from Cork County Council on Fire Incident in Ringaskiddy (Bilingual)

Cork County Council can confirm that an incident was reported in the R and H Hall Grain Store at 8.40am this morning.  Crews arrived on site at 9.00AM with tenders from Carrigaline, Cobh and Crosshaven together with an aerial appliance from Midleton and a Command Vehicle from Bandon.  There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident. The Port of Cork suspended all shipping operations in Ringaskiddy, however shipping is expected to resume in the morning.

With the introduction of additional public health guidelines to minimise the spread of Covid 19, Cork County Council will continue to provide essential services and deal with emergencies, however public offices will be accessible on an appointment basis only.

Cork County Council Announces €1.8 million Fund for Community and Voluntary Groups (Bilingual)

Following a challenging year for the community and voluntary sector, Cork County Council is delighted to announce funding to the value of over €1.8million to support local communities in 2021. The Council’s Community Fund Scheme provides financial support to a range of groups and organisations right across the county and will open for applications on Monday, January 11th.
