Funding Available for the protection of County Cork’s Heritage

Cork County Council is inviting owners and custodians to apply for funding to safeguard protected structures and archaeological monuments in County Cork through three funding streams recently announced for 2023; the Community Monuments Fund, the Built Heritage Investment Scheme and the Historic Structures Fund.

Diaries Of Michael Collins Go On Public Display In Clonakilty Marking The Centenary Of His Death

The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Danny Collins is welcoming the return of the diaries of Michael Collins back to his hometown of Clonakilty, Co. Cork.  To mark the centenary of the death of Michael Collins, the diaries, which cover the critical time period of 1918 to 1922, will go on public display, for the very first time, at the Michael Collins House Museum, Clonakilty.

Cork County Council Launches Historical Documentary

A video documentary, highlighting the importance of the role people in County Cork played in the hearings given on hardships endured during the War of Independence has been launched as part of Cork County Council’s Commemorations Programme. HERITAGE FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR MONUMENTS IN COUNTY CORK

The owners and custodians of archaeological monuments in County Cork are being invited to apply for funding to safeguard these structures into the future. Nationally, €5 million is available under the Community Monuments Fund 2022, which is a threefold increase since it was established two years ago.
