Dooneen Pier (Sheepshead)

Bathing Water Status: Green Coast

The nearest town to the pier is Kilcrohane. It is very suitable for swimming and diving as it is a sheltered pier.  Access to the sea is via steps.  It is very popular for fishing as there are plentiful supplies of mackeral. It is also a popular picnic spot. 

There are boat trips to Carbery Island and seal watching. 

The reknowned Sheeps Head Way walking route has over 60 miles of marked trails and transverses the nearby village of Kilcrohane. There are walks here for all abilities.
