Public Information Event for Carrigtwohill Rainwater Management Plan

Cork County Council is preparing a Rainwater Management Plan (RMP) for Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork.  This RMP is being prepared in conjunction with a Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) for Carrigtwohill by McCloy Consulting.

This is a ‘plan led’ appraisal for Carrigtwohill and will inform future urban planning and decision making. The emphasis of the RMP is on managing rainwater on the surface using nature-based systems to minimise the risk of harm from flooding and pollution while enhancing the urban environment through improved provision for amenity and biodiversity.

The RMP takes direction from interim best practice guidance document, ‘Nature-based Solutions to the Management of Rainwater and Surface Water Runoff in Urban Areas – Water Sensitive Urban Design’ and ‘Rainwater Management Plans – Guidance for Local Authorities’.

Cork County Council is inviting members of the public to attend an information evening on Thursday the 20th of June at Carrigtwohill Community Centre, Main Street, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork from 6pm-8pm.

This will be a drop-in-event and members of the public are encouraged to attend. Cork County Council’s Planning Policy Unit staff and the Consultants will be available to meet residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to inform them about the plan.
