Cork County Council Christmas Opening Hours 2024

Cork County Council’s offices are closed on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th of December and the 1st of January.

Offices will be open as normal on the 30th and 31st of December and from Thursday the 2nd of January.

Housing

Cork County Council’s offices are closed on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th of December and the 1st of January.

If you are a Council tenant and your property is in need of emergency repair or if you require access to homeless services please ring the Council’s out of hours emergency number (021)-4800048. This service is for emergencies only.

Motor Tax

Cork County Council’s Motor Tax Office and our dedicated Customer Contact Centre phone service 021-4544566 will be closed on 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th of December and 1st of January. The Motor Tax Office will be open by appointment on the 30th and 31st of December and from the 2nd of January.

Appointments can be made by accessing our online booking system at  www.yourcouncil.ie. You can also contact our Customer Contact Centre at 021-4544566 on the 30th and 31st of December and from the 2nd of January to make an appointment.

You can avail of our postal service by downloading a motor tax form from our website www.corkcoco.ie and posting it to The Cork Motor Tax Office, Model Farm Road, Cork. T12XP80.

Alternatively, you can visit Motor Tax Online throughout the Christmas period at www.motortax.ie for a range of services including Motor Tax renewals and Statutory Off-Road Declarations. Your pin number will be the last six digits of the serial number on your Vehicle Registration Certificate.

Civic Amenity Sites/Recycling Centres

A Christmas 2024 Schedule of Civic Amenity Site/Recycling Centre Operations is available to view at the folllowing link. 

Cork County Council is providing a free Christmas tree drop off service at our Civic Amenity Sites up until the 31st of January 2025. Please note normal charges will apply to other materials brought for recycling/disposal.

All of our sites accept payment by credit/debit card and cash.

Swimming Pools

Fermoy Leisure Centre will remain closed 24th - 26th December 2024 and Wednesday, 1st of January 2024.

Mallow Swimming Pool will remain closed to the public Tuesday 24th – Thursday 26th December and Wednesday, 1st January 2024.

Dunmanway Swimming Pool will remain closed 23rd – 26th December 2024 and 1st January 2025.

Libraries

‘My Open Library ‘will be available in Fermoy and Bandon branches over Christmas for MOL members (excluding December 27th). Please note, hours may be subject to change, members of the public are advised to contact the respective library.
