County Cork Arts Groups Awarded €38,000 in Creative Communities Funding

Cork County Council has announced that 10 arts initiatives have been awarded funding through the Creative Communities Scheme 2025. The successful applicants include a youth film project, festivals, creative hubs, a craft collective and a therapeutic community. 

This scheme is funded by Creative Ireland to support projects that improve the quality of life and wellbeing in the community and that involve collaboration between community groups and the creative sector, such as artists, designers, makers, or arts organisations.

Mayor of County Cork, Cllr. Joe Carroll welcomed the announcement saying, 

This funding will come as a welcome support to community groups and creative practitioners. It will see communities work on exciting projects, events and festivals that will bring people together. We are very grateful to be able to offer this support with thanks to Creative Ireland.

 

 

The successful applicants who will share funding totalling €38,000 are:

  • First Cut Youth Film Project, 
  • Cork Migrant Centre partnering with Cork Midsummer Festival & YMCA,
  • Helium Arts,
  • Greywood Arts, 
  • Coolmine Therapeutic Community, 
  • Basant Festival, 
  • Skibbereen Active & Social Group
  • Cork Craft and Design

The Creative Communities Programme is funded by Creative Ireland. Creative Ireland is an all-of government initiative designed to promote creativity as a strategy for wellbeing, social cohesion, and economic success. Its core proposition is that participation in cultural and creative activity promotes individual, community and national wellbeing.
