Cork County Council Invites Applications for Sliabh Luachra Musician in Residence

Cork County Council is inviting applications from Irish traditional musicians for the position of ‘Sliabh Luachra Musician in Residence’. The area, which covers parts of Northwest Cork, East Kerry and West Limerick, is recognised nationally and internationally for its traditional Irish music, song, dance, poetry and culture.

Cork County Council Announces Affordable Homes in Mallow

Cork County Council will shortly begin accepting applications for a new Affordable Housing Scheme in Mallow that is being progressed on behalf of the Land Development Agency.  Applications for the new three and four-bedroom houses at Clonmore, Ballyviniter in Mallow will open at 12 noon on Monday the 24th of June 2024.

New Guide to Researching and Writing Local History Launched in North Cork

Cork County Council’s Heritage Office joined with Kilshannig Heritage Society to host the annual gathering of the Irish Community Archive Network (iCAN) at Springfort Hall Country House Hotel, where a new publication by oral historian and author, Dr Tomás Mac Conmara was officially launched.

Final Results of Cork County Council Local Elections 2024

All 55 seats for Cork County Council have now been filled following the 2024 Local Elections. 

Fianna Fáil is now the largest party on Cork County Council with 19 Elected Members, followed by Fine Gael with 18. There are 8 Non-Party Councillors, 4 from Independent Ireland, 3 Social Democrats, 2 Labour Party and 1 Sinn Féin.
