Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-2760 Berrings, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.00hrs on Monday 6^th September 2021 to 17.00hrs on Friday 10^th September 2021 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the installation of a cattle underpass.

Alternative Routes

Traffic from Berrings travelling to Coachford should divert in Berrings Village onto the L-6806 and proceed to the Junction with the R579. There, traffic should turn left onto the R579 and travel to Crean’s Cross. There, traffic should turn left onto the R619 and continue to Coachford.

Traffic travelling from Coachford to Berrings should remain on the R619 at the Haunted House Cross and travel north as far as Crean’s Cross. There, traffic should turn right onto the R579 and travel to the junction with the L-6806, where traffic should turn right for Berrings Village.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-83-2021, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 10^th August 2021. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.00hrs on Monday 6^th September 2021 to 18.00hrs on Friday 10^th September 2021 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the installation of a cattle underpass.

Alternative Routes

For traffic heading east, divert north via L-2956-66 and east and south via Glenville village via the L-2957 and L-2958.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-84-2021, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 10^th August 2021. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
