Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-2050-0 (Part), Weir Street, Bandon, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 07:00hrs on Monday 12th February 2024 to 17:00hrs on Tuesday 20th February 2024 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate St Michaels House Building Construction.

Alternative Routes

Traffic intending to access Weir Street from McSwiney Quay, shall divert east along McSwiney Quay (L-2050-0). Turn right onto St Finbarr Place (R586-0 followed by the R603-0) and continue onto St Patrick’s Quay (L-2057-0). Turn right onto Market Street (R603-0) and then turn left onto South Main Street (L-2021-31) to approach the closed road from the opposite side.

Traffic intending to access Weir Street from South Main Street shall divert eastwards on the L-2021-31 & R603-0 to Pearse Street and then turn left onto St Finbarr Place. Turn left onto McSwiney Quay to approach the closed road from the opposite side.

Local Access will only be maintained where possible.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-1-2024, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 17th January 2024.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
