Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Stage 1 & 3 Ballinascarthy (15.20hrs to 22.00hrs)

From The Big Cross, Carriganookery, Shannonvale to Derrymeeleen, Junction with R588 via Maulnageragh, Garraneishal, Beanhill North, Dromgarriff East, Dromgarriff, Tullig, Kilmoylerane North, Kilmoylerane South, Crohane West, Crohane, Maulrour, Killeen, Lisbehegh, Kilnameela and Ballyvoige.
Alternative Routes
Take L-4031-16 and L-8060-0 west to R588 and turn right. The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Stage 2 & 4 Rossmore (15.43hrs to 22.35hrs)

Alternative Routes
Take R599 south to Aghamilla, turn left on to L-8054-0 to Kilgarriff Cross. Turn right on to L-8055-22 to rejoin R588. The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Alternative Routes
From Burrane, divert north along the R602, turn left onto the L-6063-0 to Crossmahon and then turn left onto L-2020 towards Gaggan locus. The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Alternative Routes
Take the R586 east to Enniskean Village, at Castlelands junction in Enniskean Village tune right onto the R588 for Castletown, at Castletown cross turn right off the R588 onto the L8677 to Ballaghanure. The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

At Desert, travel north along N71, turn right onto R600 to Timoleague, turn right at Clashaflugh Cross roads onto the L-8098-0, turn right onto L-8099-0 and turn left onto L-4019-33 to Aghawadda Cross Roads, turn right onto L-4021-55 to School Cross Lislevane. The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

At Creggane take L-81071-0 & L-8107-0 to Spital Crossroads, turn left to travel southwards to School Cross, turn left onto L-4018-61 to Lislevane. The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Take L-4007-52, L-4007-27, L-4007-0 west to rejoin R598 via Hayes Cross Roads. The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Stage 14 & 17 Glandore (10.12hrs to 17.50hrs)

L-8230-0, R-597-73, L-8335-0, L-8334-0, R-597-44, L-8333-0, L-4247-17, L-4247-0, R-597-19, L-8327-0, L-4246-0, L-4245-0, L-8321-0.
From the Derry Road off the N71, to Gallane via the R598, down to Ballyvireen and onto Andersons Bridge. Then onto Drombeg Road via the R598, passing Cregg, Carriglusky, Kilfinnan and onto Killacoosane. Take the high road up to Maulagow, onto Cloonties finishing up at Inchnanoon.
Alternative Routes
Take N71 West to Leap and left onto the R597 back into Glandore. The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Stage 15 & 18 Sams Cross (10.52hrs to 18.20hrs)

From N71 Barleyhill East to R599 Ballyduvane via Ardagh East, Froe, Cahermore, Freahanes, Foxhall, Castleventry, Coolnagay, Knockfeen, Coolcraheen, Tullyneasky West, Woodfield, Garralacka and Ballyvackey.
Alternative Routes
Take N71 east to rejoin R599. The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Alternative Routes
Take N71 North to Ballinascarthy. In Ballinascarthy turn left and take L-4031-37, L-4031-10 to Shannonvale. The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
In addition, it is proposed to close all adjoining public roads for a distance of 205 metres from the junctions with the roads listed above.
Objections
Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-8-2024, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 14th February 2024 Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
