Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-2040-0 Old Cork Road, Bandon Co Cork, from its Junction with Macroom Road to its Junction with Watergate Street.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 08:00hrs on Monday 20th of May 2024 to 18:00 hrs on Friday 19th of July 2024 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the construction of services to a new housing estate.

Alternative Routes

Traffic intending to access Old Cork Road from the Macroom road junction shall divert westwards along the R589-0, at the junction turn left onto North Main Street(R586-0). Turn left onto Sean Hales Place(L-2041-0) and then Watergate Street to pass the closed road from the opposite side.

The stated diversion is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-40-2024, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 24th April 2024. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
