Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-2257 Ballinhassig Co Cork- (N71 City Bound Slip Road).

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 07.00hrs to 17.00hrs on Monday 1st July 2024 (Daily Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate installation of Crash Barrier.

Alternative Routes

Traffic travelling Westbound on R613 wishing to travel to Cork City should turn left on the westbound slip road towards Bandon, proceed in a westerly direction on the N71 to the Halfway roundabout. Take the 4th exit and proceed in an easterly direction on the N71 towards the City.

Traffic wishing to travel towards Cork City from the L-2231 should proceed in a westerly direction along the L-2231, pass through Halfway Village and turn left on the N71. Proceed in an easterly direction along the N71.

Local Access will not be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-58-2024, not later than 5pm on Friday 31st May 2024.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
