Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-8075-0, Ahalisky Ballinascarty, Co. Cork – from Pedlars Cross Junction to Curranvalliheen Cross Roads.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 07:00hrs on Monday 15th of July 2024 to 18:00hrs on Friday 26th of July 2024.  (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate cattle underpass construction.

Alternative Routes

Traffic intending to access the L-8075-0 from the N71 junction shall divert south along the N71, then turn left onto L-4030-0 in Ballinascarty, then continue along the road to approach the closed road from the opposite side. 

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the road closure from either side of the work site.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-62-2024, not later than 5.00pm on Thursday 6th June 2024.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
