Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

R-584-7 Toons Bridge, Macroom, Co Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 07:00hrs to 20:00hrs (Daily Closure)on Tuesday 30th July 2024 to Wednesday 7th August 2024. 

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate road resurfacing.

Alternative Routes

Westbound Traffic: At Toons Bridge follow the R-587 south to Glaun Cross.  Follow the R-585 west through Shanlaragh and onto junction with L-4607. Follow the L-4607 north to Inchigeelagh.

The same diversion route applies in the opposite direction.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

“This closure will take place in sequence with TRC-67-2024 – “L-3402-17 Eochras, Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh, Co. Cork.” but both roads will not be closed at the same time.”

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-68-2024, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 19th June 2024. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
