Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

R626, Upper Mill Road, Midleton, Co. Cork, from a point immediately north of the Level Crossing to the Mill Road/Northern Relief Road traffic light Junction.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 07:00hrs on Saturday 3rd August to 22:00hrs on Monday 5th August 2024 (24hr Closure). 

From 07:00hrs on Saturday 10th August to 22:00hrs on Sunday 11th August 2024 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the Installation of new inlet manhole for the new Uisce Éireann Midleton north wastewater pumping station. 

Alternative Routes

Travelling southbound on the R626 Upper Mill Road to Main Street Midleton, detour to Northern Relief Road, Knockgriffin, Market Green onward to Gyratory, Mill Road and Midleton, Main St. 

Traveling Northbound detour via Market Green, Knockgriffin, Northern Relief Road and onward to R626 upper Mill Road. 

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-74-2024, not later than 5pm on Tuesday 25th June 2024.Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
