Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Roads Subject of Proposed Closure
Youghal Town - Breton Road, Catherine St, North Main St to Lower Cork hill, Market Square, The Mall, Strand St, Friar St, Windmill hill (Local access), R634/Upper Strand Road far to New Lane and R633 Front Strand Road Junction.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs on Sunday 11th August 2024 to 14:00hrs on Sunday 11th August 2024. One Day Event.
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate road running race.
Alternative Routes
Outer detour – Traffic to both directions via New Line, Springfield Court, Upper Cork Hill, Lower Cork Hill, Mill Road.
Inner Detour - Traffic to both directions via – Bawnmore Road, Raheen Park, Barrack Road, Dermot Hurley Estate, Upper/Lower Cork hill.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
Objections
Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-92-2024, not later than 5.00pm on Thursday 11th July 2024. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Road Subject of Proposed Closure
L-2489 – Raffeen Dump Road.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08.00hrs to 20.00hrs (Daily Closure) on Tuesday 6th August 2024 to Friday 16th August 2024.
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate road resurfacing works.
Alternative Routes
Traffic North of the closed section of roadway wishing to access the R613 should turn left at Rochestown College on to the L2474 and proceed along this road to its’ junction with the L-6470, then turn right and proceed in a Westerly Direction to rejoin the R613.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
