Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Roads Subject of Proposed Closure

L-5216 Laght, Rathcoole, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure

From 10:00hrs on Tuesday 24th September 2024 to 15:00hrs on Saturday 28th September 2024.  (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Upgrading and Repair of Railway Infrastructure by Iarnrod Eireann.

Alternative Routes

North bound traffic from Millstreet shall remain on the L-1120 eastbound, turn left onto the L-1117 into Rathcoole Village, cross the Railway Crossing and turn left onto the L-5216 towards Knockcahill/Prohus.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure (Note that crossing of the Railway at Laght will not be possible for the duration of the Works).

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-114-2024, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 20th August 2024.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
