Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
2024 Cork “20” Rally
Sunday 29th September 2024
Stages 1,4,7 Mullenataura (08:20hrs –18:15hrs)
Roads Subject of Proposed Closure
L-5760, L-5760-18, Section of L-1510, L-1505, L-1505-23, Section of L-1505-39, L-5772-25, L-5773, L-5775-11.
Stacks Cross, Fermoy - Gearagh Cross, R614 via Townlands of Coolroe, Knockananig, Cappagh, Glanakip, Mullenataura, Monalahan, Coolea, Raheen, Glannagaul.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:20hrs to 18:15hrs on Sunday 29th September 2024.
Alternative Routes
R-614-239, R-614-260, R-639-238, R-639-289, L-1511-0, L-1511-15.
Gearagh Cross on the R-614, Eastwards towards Rathcormac, Northwards to Fermoy via R-639, Westwards at Cork Road Junction, Fermoy via Duntaheen Road on the L-1511 to Stacks Cross (back Ballyhooley Road).
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Stages 2,5,8 - Badgers Hill (08:45hrs –18:45hrs)

Glenville to Kilavullen via Townlands of Graigue West, Coom, Coom West, Knuttery, Knockbrack, Knockananig, Rahan, Ballymacmoy.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:45hrs to 18:45hrs on Sunday 29th September 2024.
Alternative Routes
Alternative Route A
L-1223, R-620, R-638, N-20, L-1217.
Killavullen – Mallow – Ballynamona – Burnfort.
In Killavullen Village take the N72 to Mallow. At Mallow Bridge continue straight onto the R619 and onto the N20 South via the Slip Ramp. Continue on the N20 until the L-1217 Burnfort turnoff. Continue straight on this road until the L-2951 Killavullen road. Turn left onto this.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Alternative Route B
L-2958, L-2957, L-2956, L-1504, L-1219.
Glenville – Doonpeter – Knockaunalour – Beeneskehy – Kilavullen.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Stages 3, 6 -Chimneyfield (09:20hrs –16:30hrs)
Roads Subject of Proposed Closure
L-1505-59, Section of L-5753, L-5753-18, Section of L-1501-90, L-5776, L-5776-25, L-5751-6, L-5751.
Ardarou to Tooreen, Killavullen via Townlands of Ardarou, Bunaglanna, Inchanagh, Chimneyfield, Killeagh, Carrig, Tooreen.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 09:20hrs to 19:00hrs on Sunday 29th September 2024.
Alternative Routes
L-1504, L-2956, L-2957, L-2958 Tooreen South Eastwards to Glenville, and Northwards to Ardarou.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
In addition, it is proposed to close all adjoining public roads for a distance of 205 Meters from the junctions with the roads listed above.
Objections
Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made inwriting, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-118-2024, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 3rd September, 2024. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
