Temporary Closing of Public Roads

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following roads for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

R626-0 Mill Road, Midleton, Co. Cork – from Gyratory to Park St. Junction.

L 3631-0 Riversideway, Midleton, Co Cork – from Traffic Lights to Gyratory.

L3631-1 Church Lane, Midleton, Co. Cork.

(These roads will be closed at different times during the proposed dates for the closure).

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs (Nightly Closure) from Tuesday 18th March 2025 to Friday 25th April 2025. (Nightly Road Closures 19:00 hrs. to 06:00 hrs. No weekend works).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Úisce Éireann carry out relining works on the existing foul water infrastructure in the area.

Alternative Routes

R626 Mill Road, Midleton – Via R907-0 Cork Road, L-7708-0 Kennel Road Knockgriffin, L-3288-1 Relief Road rejoining R626-0 Mill Road.

L 3631-0 Riversideway, Midleton - Via R907-0 Main St. Midleton & L-3621-0 Broderick St.

L3631-1 Church Lane, Midleton – Via R907-0 Main St. Midleton & L-3621-0 Broderick St.

The stated diversion routes are applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-05-2025, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 12th February 2025.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

N71-879, Park Road, Clonakilty, Co Cork – from the junction with L-4011-62 Lamb Street Upper/Cloheen/Ardfield Road to junction with L-8053-0, Ladies Cross at The Miles.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 19:00hrs to 07:00hrs (Nightly Closure) from Monday 3rd March 2025 to Friday 23rd May 2025. Road will be open from 07:00hrs to 19:00hrs.

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate replacement and extension of existing foul sewer.

Alternative Routes

On N71 travelling west from Bandon, at Ballinascarty turn right and take the L-4031-37, L-4031-19, L-4031-16 through Shannonvale to Templebryan North, at L-8060-0 turn right and follow to join R588 at Tawnies Upper, turn left and follow R588 Fernhill Road to Oil Depot, turn right on the R880, Western Road to rejoin N71 at Maxol Roundabout, The Miles.  

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction from the Skibbereen side.

Travelling west at Facksbridge Roundabout take the R880, Wolfe Tone Street, Ashe Street, Pearse Street, Western Road through Clonakilty town.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Cas ar dheis ag an L-8060-0 agus lean an bóthar chun buaileadh leis an R588 ag an Tamhnaigh Uachtarach, cas ar chlé agus lean an R588 Fernhill Road chomh fada leis an Stáisiún Ola, cas ar dheis ar an R880, Bóthar an Iarthair chun filleadh ar an N71 ag Timpeallán Maxol, an Mhaoil.
