Temporary Closing of Public Roads

CORK COUNTY COUNCIL ROADS ACT, 1993 TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following roads for the period and reason specified below:-

Roads Subject of Proposed Closure
L-1046-0 from Kilbrin Village Crossroads (junction with L-5109-0) to Hogan’s Crossroads, and L-5102 from Hogan’s Crossroads to Ballygrady South (junction with L-1049)

Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs on Monday, 27th September 2021 to 18:00hrs on Friday, 29th October 2021 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Installation of a New Watermain.

Alternative Routes
Traffic intending to travel west from Ballygrady South (junction of L-5102 and L-1049) towards Kilbrin Village, shall divert south along the L-1049 to join the R-580 at Castlecor, passing south beyond Sal’s Bridge and continuing west (for approximately 1.9km) from Whittle’s Crossroads (Grotto) towards Marybrook. Turn right onto the L-5109 and then northwards to Kilbrin Village.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

The diversion routes will be fully signposted.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs on Wednesday, 29th September 2021 to 18:00hrs on Tuesday, 19th October 2021. (24hr Closure)

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Resurfacing.

Alternative Routes
For traffic heading South, detour along the R-512-81 and turn right onto the L-5618 and North on to the L5612 at Nagle’s Cross.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

From 08:00hrs on Monday, 27th September 2021 to 18:00hrs on Friday, 8th October 2021 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Resurfacing

Alternative Routes
For traffic heading South, stay on the Duntaheen Road (L1511) and head south along the R639 via the Corrin Interchange to the Golf Club Junction. Turn right and continue along the L5770.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

From 08.00hrs on Monday 27th September, 2021 to 20.00hrs Friday 1st October, 2021.
(Daily Closure)

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Resurfacing Works.

Alternative Routes
Eastbound Traffic: Follow the L-3420 east and north to its junction with the L3422 at Inchinashingane. Follow the L-3422 east to the N22. Follow the N22 east to its junction with the L-3428 at Dunisky. Follow the L-2000, L-3420 west.

The same diversion route applies when travelling in the reverse direction.
