Application Guidelines
Application Guidelines
- Cork County Council will offer two bursaries to artists of any discipline currently resident in Cork County to support a two week working period at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Annaghmakerrig, Co. Monaghan.
- Applicants must provide a proposal which will state clearly what they wish to accomplish during their stay at Annaghmakerrig. This proposal is the deciding factor and should demonstrate that the artist is working towards an exhibition, publication or performance which will be helped by a stay at the Centre.
- Intending applicants should be able to show significant achievement in their chosen field and/or demonstrate a high degree of promise attested by references from established figures in the arts and each application must be accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae and samples of the artist's work.
- Cork County Council will select up to two artists for award. Award-winners may then contact the Tyrone Guthrie Centre to arrange dates for their stay, which can be at any time that suits the artists during the remainder of the year of award.
- Award-winners may be requested to take part in local publicity for the Regional Bursary Scheme and should be prepared to do so.
Please note:
- The Tyrone Guthrie Bursary is open to practitioners in all art forms including writers, composers, musicians, visual artists, filmmakers, practitioners in the performing arts, theatre, dance, and multi-media.
- Applicants should state clearly and concisely what they wish to accomplish during their stay at Annaghmakerrig.
- Applicants must be living in the Cork County area.
- Applicants should show significant achievement in their chosen field.
- A reasonable sample of artistic work should be submitted. N.B. No original artwork should be submitted.
- References or other forms of support from established figures must be submitted. Referees may be contacted at the discretion of the Arts Office.
- Successful applicants must be in a position to avail of a residency within the year of award.
When completing the application please ensure that you provide relevant supporting information:
- Application form.
- Your CV.
- A short outline of what you would hope to accomplish through a two week stay at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre.
- Documentation of your most recent work such as digital images, audio files. In the case of video files please provide link to online source YouTube, Vimeo etc.
- The names, phone numbers and the email addresses of two arts professionals who know you well, are familiar with your work, and would be willing to answer relevant questions, if asked.
- Please also indicate if you have any dietary requirements.
Closing date for receipt of applications: Thursday, January 9th 2025
- We strongly advise making your application ahead of the deadline to avoid any difficulties with uploading times.
- We also advise that you keep a copy of all material submitted.
- When you are satisfied that you have uploaded all information you need for your application, click Submit.
- Once submitted, your application can not be amended. Do not submit your application until you are completely satisfied.
- If the application is successfully submitted you will receive a confirmation email and an application reference number. This mail can sometimes be classified as spam and may be directed to your spam folder.
- If you do not receive a confirmation email then the application has not reached us and you should consider resubmitting.
- We regret that late applications cannot be submitted.
Accessible Applications
The option to submit a video or audio proposal is available for people with additional needs. Audio instructions is available to guide you through the application and outline the information that must be included on each funding scheme. Video or audio applications must be submitted as a link to an external site with any required passwords. We strongly advise making the application ahead of the deadline to avoid any difficulties with uploading times.
