Domestic Wastewater Treatment Systems Grants
The Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage have grants available to homeowners towards the cost of remediation, repair, upgrading or replacing of their failing Domestic Wastewater Treatment Systems, (DWWTS) which are also known as septic tanks. There are three different situations in which grants are available:
- Your DWWTS has failed an inspection carried out under the National Inspection Plan (NIP).
- Your DWWTS is located in a Priority Area for Action as referenced in the current River Basin Management Plan 2018 - 2021.
- Your DWWTS is located in a High Status Objective Catchment Area (HSOCA) as referenced in the current River Basin Management Plan 2018 - 2021. Please click the following link 'Rural Water Programme' and enter your Eircode to see if your property may be eligible for the HSOCA grant scheme.
If you would like us to check your eligibility for a DWWTS grant under the above schemes, please complete this brief form: Septic Tank Grant Eligibility.
