Section 38 – Proposed Traffic Calming Measures - Bridge St & Bridge Lane, Bandon Co Cork.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994, Cork County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to introduce the following road works at Bridge st, Bandon, Co. Cork;

  • Installation of automatic retractable traffic bollard at the Bridge st. / Mac Swiney Quay junction
  • The bollard will retract between the hours of 6:30 & 11:00 am to facilitate vehicular deliveries
  • Installation of associated signage, lightings and kiosk for power supply
  • North bound traffic flow on bridge lane from Market Quay and Patricks Quay is only for accessing the Bridge lane car park. There will be no through traffic to South Main st / Pearse st junction
  • all associated works

The works will involve the construction and installation of a retractable traffic bollard, realigned kerb line, road markings, traffic signals and associated works.

Drawings and particulars of the proposed project are available for inspection:

  2. Cork County Council, Bandon Area Engineers office Glasslynn Road, Bandon, Co. Cork,

and may be inspected during normal offices hours from 9am on Friday 19th July until 5pm Thursday 15th August 2024 inclusive.

Submissions regarding the proposal may be made;

on or before 5 pm on Thursday 15th August, 2024.

Please include the Section 38 project title (as per the above notice) on all submissions and correspondence sent to Cork County Council relating to this project. It should be noted that the Freedom of Information Act applies to all records held by Cork County Council.
