Kanturk Link Road

Cork County Council is delighted to have the opportunity to develop the Kanturk Link Road. The new link road situated between Bluepool Upper and the Mill Road will improve connectivity and access to Kanturk town centre and to the proposed new National School on Mill Road. The project is being funded by the Cork County Council and the Department of Rural and Community Development through the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund as part of Project Ireland 2040

The proposed works include the construction of approximately 450 linear metres of new carriageway, installation of footpaths and cycle tracks, surface water drainage, installation of public lighting, and ducting.  The new footpaths and cycle tracks, will encourage active travel. The provision of the Link Road will provide a safer environment for all road users especially for vulnerable road users.

The new Link Road will facilitate the future development of lands in the area and reduce traffic congestion in Kanturk town centre.
