Unauthorised Advertising Vehicles, Trailers & Signs on Public Roads
Cork County Council wishes to advise that it is an offence under the Roads Act 1993 to place or retain a vehicle or sign for the purposes of advertising, sale of goods, provision of services or other similar purpose on a public road / roadside without the consent of the Road Authority.
This includes vehicles offered for sale on public roads, footpaths, grass margins or hard shoulders.
The owners of any such unauthorised vehicles and / or signs will be instructed to remove them with immediate effect. Failure to do so will result in the Council arranging for removal of the vehicle /sign without further notice. Removal and storage costs will be recouped by the Council and these are likely to be substantial.
