Cork County Council has announced that works are scheduled to commence on the construction of a new public ‘Pocket Park’ in the village of Ballydesmond.

Cork County Council has confirmed five community nominations for the 2023 IPB Pride of Place Awards, in association with Co-operation Ireland. Now in its 21st consecutive year, the Pride of Place Competition acknowledges the work being done every day by communities all over the island of Ireland.

Cork County Council’s North, South and West Cork Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs) in partnership with Avondhu Blackwater Partnership, SECAD Partnership and Comhar na nOileán Teo are currently developing community-led Local Development Strategies (LDS) for each LCDC areas to deliver the next LEADER programme 2023 – 2027. 

Launching a countywide programme for Bike Week Cork 2023, Cork County Council is encouraging people of all ages to get on their bike and to discover the joys of cycling during the week-long celebration.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Danny Collins has officially opened a new playground in Ballinhassig. The nature-inspired playground incorporates natural play spaces that are designed to adapt to their setting. Located in the heart of the village on a 2-acre community park, the project was managed by Cork County Council with input from Ballinhassig Village Association.
