Cork County Council’s Library and Arts Service has announced the 2024 Cruinniú na nÓg programme, with over 30 creative events planned across the county on Saturday the 15th of June. This year’s programme is unique in that it was almost entirely programmed by the children of Cork themselves.

Cork County Council is working towards the completion of two social and affordable housing developments that will deliver 151 new homes in the county. 

Cork County Council has officially opened two new exciting recreational developments in West Cork. Bantry Peace Park is now home to a new inclusive playground suitable for all ages. The Blue Pool Trails Glengarriff underwent extensive improvement works including accessible paths and new seating and viewing areas.   

Cork County Council has confirmed that five community groups will represent County Cork at the 2024 IPB Pride of Place Awards, in association with Co-operation Ireland. Now in its 22nd consecutive year, the competition acknowledges the work undertaken every day by communities all over the island of Ireland. 

Cork County Council’s Local Community Development Committees (LCDC’s) for North, South and West Cork have announced their combined list of projects that will be awarded funding from the LCDC Local Enhancement Programme and Women’s Group Fund 2024.  

Marking the commencement of the public engagement phase of the Town Centre First Regeneration Plan for Kanturk, Cork County Council is inviting members of the public to attend an information evening on Thursday the 30th of May at Temperance Hall, Strand Street, Kanturk.

Cork County Council has awarded €44,600 in grant funding under the Council’s Heritage Grant Scheme. A total of 26 projects and initiatives across all eight of the county’s Municipal Districts will benefit from this year’s funding.

A new outdoor Amphitheatre in Skibbereen and an upgraded walkway in Clonakilty have been officially opened to the public. The projects spearheaded by Cork County Council demonstrate a commitment to enriching community spaces for residents and visitors alike. 

Members of the public are being invited to have their say on the emerging options for the Flood Relief Scheme for Bantry town and surrounding areas. A series of flood mitigation options have been developed following extensive investigations.
