Cork County Council Library during Level 5 restrictions

The majority of Cork County Council’s services continue as essential services in Phase 5, effective from December 24th. The Council is asking Cork County residents to note the following for the duration of level 5 restrictions.

Museums and tourism facilities will be closed to the public.

Swimming Pools will remain open for individual training only.

Travel on the Dursey Island Cable Car will be restricted to residents and farmers only.

Playgrounds, Multi Use Games Areas and outdoor gyms will remain open. 

Public conveniences at beaches and tourist locations will remain open.

The Motor Tax Office in Model Business Park, Model Farm Road, will close on 23rd December for the duration of Level 5 restrictions. Online and postal services are in place. Appointments may be granted in exceptional circumstancesby calling 021 4544566.

While library branches and exhibition spaces will be closed to the public, Cork County Council’s Library and Arts Services will move its services online.

A wide range of ebooks, eaudio, emagazines, enewspapers and ecourses are all available free of charge. From our website you can join the library and access a full range of free online services from home. You can access BorrowBox for eBooks and eAudiobooks, RBDigital for magazines, PressReader for newspapers, Transparent Language for language learning and UniversalClass for online courses. For further details on other services online, please check our social media for updates.  The online book request system is paused until further notice but you can still access your account online. Your books will be automatically renewed if they were due to be returned over the next six weeks.
