TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following roads for the periods and reason specified below:-

2021 Cork 20 International Rally
Saturday 18th September, 2021 – Sunday 19th September, 2021

Saturday 18th September, 2021
Watergrasshill Area

Shakedown Stage (14.00hrs to 18.30hrs)

Roads Subject of Proposed Closure
L5808-0, L-5810-14, L5810-0 and L-58101-0 in Coolquane and Skahanagh South, Watergrasshill, Co. Cork

Alternative Routes
On approaching Kearney’s Cross take a left onto L-1540-0. To continue north take a right turn at the junction and proceed to the roundabout. Take the third exit off the roundabout onto the L-1524-5.

The alternative route for traffic travelling in a northerly direction from the Dundullerick area towards Bartlemy is to head easterly along the L-7692-0 and then to head north along the R-626.

In addition, it is proposed to close all adjoining public roads for a distance of 200 metres from the junctions with the roads listed above.

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate the Construction of a Cattle Underpass

Alternative Routes
For traffic travelling east, divert North via the R513-13 in Mitchelstown and east via the N73 to Kilbeheny, divert south via the L1406 via Ballygiblin School Cross and west back onto the R665-38

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

From 19.30hrs on Monday 20th September, 2021 to 06.00hrs on Friday 1st October, 2021.

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Replacement of Reflective Cats-Eyes

Alternative Routes
R639 (old N8)

1.   For Southbound closure Junction 15-17, diversion from Junction 15 and R639 to join at J17.
2.   For Northbound closure Junction 17-15, diversion from Junction 17 and R639 to join at J15, alternatively.
3.   For Northbound closure Junction 15-14, diversion via R639 to join at Junction 14.
4.   For Southbound closure Junction 14-15, diversion via R639 to join at Junction 15.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs on Monday, 13th September 2021 to 18:00hrs on Friday, 1st October 2021
(24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Resurfacing.

Alternative Routes

Traffic travelling on the L-1041 from Ballyhass/Ceilstown shall divert left at Mannix’s Cross onto the L-1042 signposted Castlemagner. Continue on the L-1042 through Castlemagner Village to Bannagh Cross. Turn right at Bannagh Cross onto the R576 signposted Kanturk. Continue on the R576 to Kanturk Town and turn right at the Grotto onto the R580 signposted Buttevant. Continue on R580 to Sally cross.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
