Brexit Information

The UK is due to leave the European Union. How and when they may leave is not yet certain.

The EU and the UK agreed on an extension to 31 October 2019 with the aim of ensuring an orderly withdrawal of the UK from the EU. Given the political situation in the UK, there is a substantial risk of no-deal Brexit on 31 October. Irrespective of the final shape of Brexit, the decision of the UK to leave the EU will result in some changes, both here in Ireland and for our EU partners, which we will continue to prepare for.

While there is still some uncertainty, it’s important for you to be aware of what Brexit may mean for your business and your daily life. Whether you're a concerned citizen or wondering how Brexit may affect your business, the aim of both the government website and that of the Local Authority is to help in your preparation for Brexit.

The Local Enterprise Offices of both Cork North and West and of South Cork are both geared to assist you with your Brexit queries and your next steps. Please see below links to the relevant sections on both websites which contain a range of supports available and help guides to support you through this uncertain period.
