The Irish Chamber Orchestra at St Brendan’s Church
On Friday 14 October at 7.30 pm in St Brendan’s Church, the Irish Chamber Orchestra is joined by the charismatic violinist Florian Donderer for an emotive performance of Haydn’s Violin Concerto – an all-time favourite with its radiant outer movements flanking an exquisite Adagio. The orchestra revisits David Fennessy’s remarkable and ethereal Hirta Rounds, evoking memories of Scottish islanders leaving their homes of many centuries. The concert concludes with the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s performance of Dvořák’s sunny and life-affirming Serenade for Strings, one of his best-loved works. This concert is generously supported by Cork County Council.
