Villages Receive €68,750 Investment in Macroom Municipal District
The village of Clondrohid has welcomed significant investment under Cork County Council’s Village Enhancement Fund. Improvement works valued at €50,750 have been completed as part of the Macroom Municipal District 2021 Programme, with a further €18,000 dedicated towards speed safety measures in villages across the district.
Enhancement works completed in Clondrohid include a new resurfaced set down area for the local school and creche, pollinator-friendly planting, new seating at the GAA grounds, seating at Curragh Road, a popular local route for walkers, and equipment for the local Age Friendly group.

Cathaoirleach of Macroom MD, Cllr Eileen Lynch added, “The people of Clondrohid are very proud of their village and thankful to Cork County Council for these funds which have greatly enhanced this widely used area of the village and is in essence the hub of the village for all activities. I would like to thank the local community for working with us to identify their priorities for this funding, ensuring that it will bring maximum benefit for the village. We are very proud of the results.”
Clondrohid has also received two rounds of CLÁR Funding in recent years to a total of €100,000 which was also spent on the upgrading, drainage and resurfacing of two car parking facilities in this area for use by the local clubs, local creche and locals attending this area.

I measc na n-oibreacha feabhsúcháin a críochnaíodh i gCluain Droichead tá limistéar tuirlingthe le dromchla nua don scoil agus naíolann áitiúil, plandáil atá oiriúnach do phailneoirí, suíocháin nua ag tailte CLG, suíocháin ar Bhóthar an Churraigh, bealach áitiúil a bhfuil tóir ag siúlóirí air, agus trealamh don ghrúpa aoisbháúil áitiúil .

Tá dhá bhabhta de Mhaoiniú CLÁR faighte ag Cluain Droichead le blianta beaga anuas chomh maith ar luach €100,000 san iomlán. Caitheadh an t-airgead sin ar uasghrádú, draenáil agus athdhromchlú de dhá áis pháirceála sa cheantar seo a tá in úsáid ag na clubanna áitiúla, an naíolann áitiúla agus muintir na háite atá sa cheantar.
