Cork County Council Launches Public Consultation for Local Economic and Community Plan (Bilingual)

Cork County Council has launched a public consultation period for the first phase of its Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP). The LECP is an important plan which will guide the promotion and support of the county’s economy and community over the next six years.

The first phase of the review process for the LECP has now been completed. On foot of this review, the Draft Socio-Economic Statement and High-Level Goals document have been developed, forming a strategic framework for the LECP.  This document will be available for review and public consultation from May 15th to June 26th.

Commenting on the launch of the public consultation, Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Danny Collins said,

I would like to encourage those living and working in Cork County to have their say on how we promote and support the development of our communities and economy over the next 6 years. If you would like to promote your area or to develop a project for your community, this is your chance to help guide the direction of this plan. It is an excellent opportunity to share your thoughts and help shape the future of our county.

 

To ensure that the people of Cork County have a say in shaping the vision of the plan, Cork County Council will hold three in-person events together with a virtual consultation room.  The LECP will be available at Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP) 2023-2029 | Cork County Council (corkcoco.ie) and copies will also be available in each of Cork County Council’s library branches.

Public events will be held in Clonakilty on May 16th, in Mallow on May 18th and in Little Island on May 22nd:

Chief Executive of Cork County Council, Tim Lucey added,

The Local Economic and Community Plan will provide a framework for the economic and community development of Cork County over this next 6 years. The preparation of the LECP has been based on quantifiable data and evidence. It is important that the people of Cork County now have their say on this document which will inform and shape, how we support the development our communities and economy.

Seolann Comhairle Contae Chorcaí Comhairliúchán Poiblí do Phlean Áitiúil Eacnamaíochta agus Pobail



Tá tréimhse comhairliúcháin phoiblí seolta ag Comhairle Contae Chorcaí don chéad chéim dá Plean Áitiúil Eacnamaíochta agus Pobail (PÁEP). Is plean tábhachtach é an PÁEP a threoróidh cur chun cinn agus tacaíocht gheilleagar agus phobal an chontae sna sé bliana amach romhainn.

Tá an chéad chéim den phróiseas athbhreithnithe don PÁEP curtha i gcrích anois. Mar thoradh ar an athbhreithniú sin, forbraíodh an doiciméad Dréacht-Ráiteas Socheacnamaíoch agus Spriocanna Ardleibhéil, rud a chruthaíonn creat straitéiseach don PÁEP.  Beidh an doiciméad seo ar fáil le haghaidh athbhreithnithe agus le haghaidh comhairliúchán poiblí ón 15 Bealtaine go dtí an 26 Meitheamh.

Ba mhaith liom daoine atá ag maireachtáil agus ag obair i gContae Chorcaí a spreagadh chun a dtuairimí a chur in iúl maidir leis an gcaoi a gcuirimid forbairt ár bpobal agus ár ngeilleagar chun cinn sna 6 bliana amach romhainn. Más mian leat do cheantar a chur chun cinn nó tionscadal a fhorbairt do do phobal, seo do sheans chun treo an phlean seo a stiúradh. Is deis iontach é do chuid smaointe a roinnt agus cabhrú le todhchaí ár gcontae a mhúnlú.

 

Chun a chinntiú go mbeidh cead cainte ag muintir Chontae Chorcaí maidir le fís an phlean a mhúnlú, reáchtálfaidh Comhairle Contae Chorcaí trí imeacht i bpearsa mar aon le seomra comhairliúcháin fíorúil.  Beidh an PÁEP ar fáil ag Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP) 2023-2029 | Cork County Council (corkcoco.ie) agus beidh cóipeanna ar fáil freisin i ngach brainse de leabharlanna Chomhairle Contae Chorcaí.
