Skibbereen identified as a ‘pathfinder’ town under the Government’s Town Centre First Policy Initiative
Skibbereen town has been identified as a ‘pathfinder’ town under the Government’s Town Centre First Policy initiative with funding granted to Cork County Council for the development of a regeneration plan for the town.
The aim of the Town Centre First Policy is to create town centres that function as viable, vibrant and attractive locations for people to live, work and visit, while also functioning as the service, social, cultural and recreational hub for the local community.
Cork County Council will be developing the regeneration plan for Skibbereen in consultation with residents and business owners within the town together with the wider community who visit the town regularly. The first step in this consultation is a general survey of the Skibbereen community.
Participation in this survey will help inform and guide the development of the Skibbereen Town Regeneration Plan plus the key actions and outcomes arising from it.
You can complete the survey by clicking the button below or contact 021 4285161 to request a hard copy.
The survey is expected to take only a few minutes to complete and will be open until Friday September 8th.
The next step will then be a more focused consultation with key stakeholder groups to mark the start of the plan development process.
