Cork County Council has announced funding to the value of over €1.8million to support local communities in 2024. This is the Council’s tenth year providing the Community Fund Scheme which has assisted in delivering a host of valuable community initiatives right across Cork County every year.

The scheme provides financial assistance to a range of different community, sporting and voluntary organisations under three distinctive fund types: The Capital Fund, Community Contract, and Amenity Fund and is administered locally by Cork County Council’s eight Municipal Districts. These funds support a range of projects and initiatives, including supporting the work of Tidy Towns groups and community associations, infrastructural works, and sports and leisure facilities.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Frank O’Flynn welcomed the return of the scheme for 2024 saying,

Now in its tenth year, the Community Fund Scheme has been very well received by community groups around Cork since being first introduced. Communities have shown great pride in their local areas with some excellent projects undertaken through this scheme. I encourage community groups to make an application for this year’ scheme to make a real difference to your local area.

Chief Executive of Cork County Council, Valerie O’Sullivan added

The Community Fund Scheme has always been a welcome boost for our towns and villages. I’m pleased to announce that we have made €1.8m in support available again this year which exemplifies the Council‘s commitment to supporting communities in their efforts to continually enhance and improve the quality of life in their locality.

Applications will close at 4:00pm on Tuesday the 13th of February 2024.

Scéim Cistiúcháin Pobail €1.8m á fhógairt ag Comhairle Contae Chorcaí

Tá maoiniú de luach os cionn €1.8 milliún fógartha ag Comhairle Contae Chorcaí chun tacú le pobail áitiúla in 2024. Is í seo an deichiú bliain don Chomhairle an Scéim Cistiúcháin Pobail a sholáthar, scéim a chabhraigh le hiliomad tionscnamh luachmhar pobail a sheachadadh ar fud Chontae Chorcaí gach bliain.

Cuireann an scéim cúnamh airgeadais ar fáil do raon eagraíochtaí pobail, spóirt agus deonacha faoi thrí chineál ciste ar leith: Scéim an Chiste Chaipitil, Scéim na gConarthaí Pobail, agus Scéim an Chiste Taitneamhachta, agus tá sé á riar go háitiúil ag na hocht gCeantar Bhardasach de Chomhairle Contae Chorcaí. Tacaíonn na cistí seo le raon tionscadal agus tionscnamh, lena n-áirítear tacú le hobair ghrúpaí na mBailte Slachtmhara agus cumainn phobail, oibreacha bonneagair, agus áiseanna spóirt agus fóillíochta.

D'fháiltigh Méara Chontae Chorcaí, an Clr. Frank O’Flynn,  roimh fhilleadh na scéime do 2024 ag rá,

Tá an Scéim Cistiúcháin Pobail anois ina deichiú bliain tar éis glacadh go han-mhaith leis sna grúpaí pobail ar fud Chorcaí ó tugadh isteach é den chéad uair. Léirigh pobail an-bhród as a gceantair áitiúla agus tugadh faoi roinnt tionscadal den scoth tríd an scéim seo. Molaim do ghrúpaí pobail iarratas a dhéanamh ar scéim na bliana seo chun fíor-dhifríocht a dhéanamh do'd cheantar áitiúil.

Dúirt Valerie O’Sullivan, Príomhfheidhmeannach Chomhairle Contae Chorcaí,

Ba spreagadh iontach i gcónaí í an Scéim Cistiúcháin Pobail  dár mbailte agus sráidbhailte. Tá áthas orm a fhógairt go bhfuil €1.8m de thacaíocht curtha ar fáil againn arís i mbliana, rud a léiríonn tiomantas na Comhairle do thacú le pobail ina n-iarrachtaí chun cáilíocht na beatha ina gceantar a fheabhsú go leanúnach.

Tá treoirlínte don scéim agus sonraí iarratais ar fáil thíos ó Dé Céadaoin an 10 Eanáir 2024 agus dúnfaidh sí ag 4:00in Dé Máirt an 13 Feabhra 2024. Tá tuilleadh sonraí, lena n-áirítear sonraí teagmhála do d'Oifig Ceantair Bhardasaigh áitiúil ar fáil ar shuíomh Gréasáin na Comhairle freisin.
