Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Road Subject of Proposed Closure
Part of the R586- section 266 West Green, Dunmanway Town, Co. Cork – from its junction with the Mary Street L4618 and Kilbarry Road L8570 to Junction with R599 East Green in the townland Of Dunmanway South.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 07:00hrs to 19:00hrs (Daily Closure) from Monday 2nd September 2024 to Monday 16th September 2024.
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Restoration Improvement Works on the R586-266 West Green.
Alternative Routes
Traffic coming from Drimoleague, Bantry and Skibbereen, at R586 junction with Kilbarry Road L8570/Mary Street L4618 turn right onto Mary Street to Quarry Road Junction. At junction, go straight ahead along Quarry Road L4620, keep left at bend to Sackville Street junction with R586, at junction turn left onto the Main Street (R586), until Market Square R586-267. Turn left to Bridge Street R586 -266, at junction West Green with East Green keep left on the R599 East Green, at Quarry road junction turn right along Mary Road L4618.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
Objections
Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-105-2024, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 31st July 2024. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

L4221-27-0 Forenaught, Co. Cork – from its junction with the L4221-0 and the L8258-0 to its junction with the L8259-0.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs (Daily Closure) from Monday 9th September 2024 to Friday 27th September 2024.
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Improvement Works.
Alternative Routes
From Union Hall take the L4227-0 onto the N71 heading west take the L4220-0 south at Derryleigh Bridge and then onto the L4221-0 which brings you onto the R596-24 Castletownshend Road.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
