Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

R-592-34 (Part of) Caheragh, Co Cork – closed between R-592-34 & L-8737 junction and R-592-34 & L-8730-15 junction.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 13:00hrs to 18.00hrs on Sunday, 13th October 2024 (Daily Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Annual Vintage Threshing & Display.

Alternative Routes

Southbound (from Bantry) via L88737-0, L-8280-0, and L-4233-0. Diversion route will be marshalled and signposted.
Northbound (from Skibbereen) via L-8730-15, L-8731-0, L-8733-0, and L-8734-0. Diversion route will be marshalled and signposted.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-119-2024, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 28th August 2024.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
