Local Enterprise Offices
Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs), act as a “First Stop Shop” for anyone seeking information and support on starting or growing a business in Ireland. The role of the LEO is to drive the development of local enterprises, putting micro and small businesses at the heart of job creation. We support business start-ups and work to increase the job potential of new and existing micro and small businesses with information, advice, training, mentoring, seminars and selective financial support.
The services of the Local Enterprise Office can be set out in the following areas:
- Business Information & Advisory Services;
- Enterprise Support Services;
- Entrepreneurship Support Services;
- Local Enterprise Development Services.
In delivering on its First Stop Shop for businesses our activity in 2017 will include:
- Supporting entrepreneurs, owners and managers in accessing financial supports and enabling them to plan, grow and sustain productivity, innovation and competitiveness;
- Providing access to training & mentoring supports to an increased number of participants;
- Supporting business in accessing and participating in exhibitions, seminars and networking events;
- Promotion of the Microfinance Ireland Loan Fund;
- Promotion of Trading Online Vouchers;
- Liaising directly with Enterprise Ireland regarding the progression pathways for new and existing clients;
- Referring enterprises to other relevant support services;
- Supporting sectoral networks to promote the development of clusters;
- Promoting the National Enterprise Awards;
- Engaging in Enterprise Education within primary, secondary and third-level education sectors;
- Collaborating and ongoing work with other agencies and our protocol partners.
