'Meet Your Heroes' Autism-Friendly Walk at Mallow Castle

In conjunction with Mallow Arts Festival Cork County Council are delighted to present the "Meet Your Heroes" event at Mallow Castle on Sunday, July 28th, 2024, from 2:30 to 4:30, is an autism-friendly walk that aims to bring individuals and their families together with various local heroes and emergency services personnel. The event is designed to create a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals to interact with these community heroes in a relaxed setting.

The event will feature representatives from An Garda Síochána, Search and Rescue team, Mallow Fire Brigade, Civil Defence, Cork County Council and more. These community heroes will be present to engage with participants, answer questions, and showcase the important work they do to keep the community safe.

By organising this autism-friendly walk and providing an opportunity for individuals with autism to meet and interact with these local heroes, the event aims to foster positive relationships, increase awareness, and promote understanding and acceptance within the community.

Participants can enjoy a leisurely walk around the beautiful surroundings of Mallow Castle while having the chance to meet and greet the representatives from various emergency services and community organisations. 

We would ask people not to park in nearby housing estates and to use the carparks which are free of charge on Sundays.
