Tom served on Cork County Council as a highly respected Councillor and was elected to Dáil Eireann in 1965. Tom was deeply passionate about public service and sustained this passion throughout this life after politics where he remained active in his local community through both the GAA and his local athletic club in Millstreet. On behalf of the people of Cork County and on behalf of Cork County Council, I wish to extend my very deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Tom Meaney.
