Council makes €3.6M Investment in North Cork Roads
The scope of the works includes road resurfacing, major road reconstruction, traffic-calming measures, drainage and associated works to enhance the road network and improve safety for all road users.
Mayor of the County of Cork Cllr. Gillian Coughlan welcomed the appointment saying “Managing and maintaining our local roads network is a vital part of how Cork County Council supports communities across the county. The commencement of the Road Resurfacing Contract in North Cork will make a huge difference for residents and visitors to the many towns and villages throughout out Fermoy and Kanturk/Mallow Municipal Districts, supporting safer and more accessible routes between towns and villages.”
Chief Executive of Cork County Council noted “This €3.6 million investment in Cork County Council’s Northern Division, covering the Kanturk/Mallow and Fermoy Municipal Districts, reflects our commitment to enhancing quality of life for our residents and supporting communities countywide. Enhancing our roads infrastructure benefits all sectors in Cork County, connecting people and businesses safely.”
The works will commence in May and are programmed to take 4 months to complete.
