Small Things Like These

Cork County Council Arts Office’s LHQ Gallery are accepting submissions for an open call winter show. The group exhibition is titled Small Things Like These after Claire Keegan’s novel of the same name. The novel is set in the weeks leading up to Christmas in the mid-80s and captures the busyness of the season, the family traditions, and also the complicit silences of a town. For Small Things Like These, LHQ Gallery are seeking submission of works that are relatively small in scale.

The exhibition at LHQ Gallery will take place from December 1st to 22nd. Please apply by submitting one or two works to be included in the group show. Works must be existing, they can be 2d including painting, photography, print, drawing, lens-based media or mixed media; or 3d works including sculpture, textiles. Works will be accepted from artists, designers, and craftspeople living on the island of Ireland. If selected, the work must be delivered to LHQ Gallery between 26th and 28th November by the artist or their representative. LHQ Gallery takes no commission on sales and any inquiries for sales will be directed to the artist by the Arts Office.
